Contemporary French limestone stand-alone sink

This type of shallow sink is called "Provencal pile" and used to be found in the kitchens of our Provencal farmhouses. In order to save running water which was quite rare then, the washing-up was made in a separate bucket and not directly into the sink.

Here, the Provencal pile has been carved directly into the stone in a large monolithic stone of 150 cm long by 90 cm wide. This massive stone is supported by a pair of straight and sturdy legs.
The stone we used to make this kitchen sink is the stone of Avy (a firm white limestone extracted in our French quarries).

This sink can be installed both indoors (bathroom, kitchen, laundry room ...) or outdoors like as part of a summer kitchen or in a veggie garden.

It can be modified according to your wishes by adding, for example, a credence, a water plug, a shelf ... or more simply, by modifying the finish or the dimensions !
