Extracted in the Châtillonnais region in Burgundy, it is a limestone exploited since the Antiquity for local purposes. But since the beginning of the XXth Century, this stone has known a real industrial development. The use of this natural stone "Châtillonnais" goes beyond the local construction : the Cathedral of Troyes, Brussels Palace of Justice, and more recently, it has been used by the renowned architect Pei to build the pyramid of the Louvre and the Musée du Luxembourg !
