Magnificent Gothic fountain with 8 hand sculpted heads carved in natural stone

Majestic village fountain made of Fench natural stone : Roche d'Espeil, a sedimentary limestone from Provence.

This unique piece, a creation by Alain Edouard Bidal, is cut, carved and very finely hand sculpted by our master craftsmen in our workshop in Isle sur la Sorgue.

Inspired by a typical Provencal village fountain, it has a wide octagonal basin formed of dressed stone topped with rounded copings. This moulded basin rests on a thick stone base. The very elaborate central column is a fine example of the know-how of our craftsmen : octagonal shaft, various mouldings, eight magnificent sculpted Gothic heads as water outlets, and a "Medicis" style ornamental vase sitting on top.

This handcrafted fountain shows a beautiful natural patina.
